Designed by Bill Bowerman in 1972, the original Cortez was one of the first Nikes to bear the iconic Swoosh. An updated version of that vintage runner, the Nike Classic Cortez Leather, imitates the original upper material with leather and synthetic leather in white, a black Swoosh on the side, and a lace dubrae for added detail. The heel is slightly wider and higher than the original, but the herringbone pattern on the outsole remains.
