The adidas Superstar was originally released in 1969 as a performance basketball shoe. This everyday rendition, the adidas Wmns Superstar Slip-On, replaces the silhouette's traditional leather upper with a lightweight, breathable mesh in a deep black. The usual lacing system also is replaced with a sock-like construction, with lockdown provided by a pair of wide elastic straps crisscrossing the forefoot. The traditional rubber shell toe remains along with a rubber cupsole construction.
